Agribusiness Management

This is an advanced class for the agricultural-oriented student. It pulls together the basic information from animal science and soil and crop science into a management class in preparation for careers in agriculture. This class will teach students acceptable accounting and business procedures to be used in farm related activities. This course may be taken more than once for students in FFA.
PREREQUISITE: To enter this course, students will need to have successfully completed the basic agriculture courses.
GRADING: Grades are based on homework, tests, quizzes and class participation.
OUTCOMES: 1. Students shall be able to apply basic financial management principles to information entered in the Michigan Record Book in order to assist in making future decisions.
2. Students will understand the basic concepts of computer literacy and appreciate the role of the
computer applications in agriculture.
3. Students shall understand the four types of business structure in agriculture.
4. Students will gain an understanding of the importance of effective communications and the role
that communication plays in the agriculture industry.
