Greenhouse and Landscape Management
Course Description
This is a course for students interested in advanced plant growth and propagation. This course will include botanical classification, plant physiology and reproduction, soils and soil preparation, plant growth requirements, basic greenhouse construction and operation principles, basic floriculture and basic landscape design and construction. This course may be taken more than once.
Outcomes
The major outcome of this course is to prepare a student for entry level employment in the greenhouse and landscape field or to continue in a two or four year related degree r certificate program. The course will teach the concepts needed to be successful in the industry using approved practices and methods. This course will also allow students to enhance current science skills already obtained at Alma High School. It is also a goal that students completing this course will use these skills as an integral part of their lives.
